On March 26, 2017, The Dalles Chronicle published a profile on wheat producers Alan and Judy von Borstel. Alan is this year’s OWGL Secretary/Treasurer, on track to lead the organization as president in 2019. Two articles, A Changing Landscape and Farming for the Future, gave Alan and Judy the opportunity to tell the story of ag from their farm in southern Sherman County.

We have a winner of the raffle for the Commemorative 90th Anniversary Big Henry Rifle! The winning ticket was drawn at the 2016 Oregon Gala during the Tri-State Grain Growers Convention in Coeur d’Alene, ID last November. Raffle proceeds benefitted the Oregon WheatPAC.
WheatPAC member and past president of the OWGL, Eric Orem, presented the rifle to the winner, Ken Krebs of Rickreall, Oregon at the OWGL Board meeting in Salem on February 13th. View the presentation in the April 2017 issue of Oregon Wheat Magazine.
