Don Wysocki will present a seminar on Monday, January 30, at 10 am in the conference room to describe the soils in our region. This is an important opportunity to learn from a regional expert and better understand how and why our cropping systems work the way they do.
On the first Wednesday in February (February 1), our new ARS microbiology postdoc, Ann Klein, will present a study she worked on during her first postdoc looking at soil microbial communities in the Brazilian Amazon. Title: “Effects of land use change on soil microbial communities: lessons from methane-cycling organisms in the Amazon Basin”.
Bring a sack lunch.
Guest Speaker – Blake Rowe, Oregon Wheat CEO will provide a wheat industry and legislative update.
A business meeting will also be held to elect new county presidents for Sherman County and Wasco County.
