Chris’ family farm is now chemical fallow rotation growing SWW, HRW, Dark Northern Spring, Oats & Tritacale. He continues to be involved with test plots for OSU, extension services and some chemical companies. His personal interest is in developing the biofuel industry as a dependable domestic market and HWW for export to expand the options for the Oregon growers. Serves as representative: Hard White Wheat, Wheat Marketing Center, Research.                                                                                       

Sherman Reese, Vice Chairman
Umatilla County


Term: July 1, 2006—June 30, 2010


Sherman and family own and operate a wheat and cattle farm in Umatilla county. He has been farming independently for the past 21 years. Sherman received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1979 at Oregon State University. Sherman has served as member and leader with the OWGL since 1991and served as NAWG President in 2005.

Larry farms in Malheur County and Serves as representative on the Research, Variety Release Committee and Wheat Quality Council.



Tom Duyck, Commissioner
Washington County

Term: July 1, 2007 – June 30, 2010

Tom has carried on the family farm in Washington county and Wallowa County since 1970 producing wheat, seed, vegetables, berries and cattle. He served on Banks/Sunset Community Park Committee, Clover Commission, Channel Deepening Coalition and Soil & Water Conservation Committee. Serves as representative: Channel Deepening, OWGL, USW Associates and Trade Teams.

Tom McCoy, Commissioner
Sherman County

Tom grows wheat and barley near Wasco. He started farming in 1975—initially in partnership with his father. He served as chairman of several OWGL committees beginning in 1979 and as OWGL President in 2001. He served on the Oregon Governor’s Council of Economic Advisors from 1991 to 2000. In Sherman County, he served on the grain cooperative board of directors for 11 years and on the high school board of directors for 4 years.

Tim Galvin is an agriculture and trade policy consultant in Bend, Oregon.
From 2001 to 2004 he was Senior Analyst, Agriculture and Trade, for the Committee on the Budget, United States Senate, and U.S. Sen. Kent Conrad’s (D-ND) Legislative Assistant for Agriculture. During the period 1994-2001, he was Associate Administrator and then Administrator of the Foreign Agricultural Service at the U.S. Department of agriculture. From 1989 to 1994 he was Legislative Assistant for Agriculture and Trade for U.S. Senator Bob Kerrey (D-NE). Prior to that he was a professional staff member for the Committee on Agriculture, U.S. House of Representatives, from 1986 to 1989. He began his career as a Legislative Assistant and then Legislative Director for U.S. Rep. Berkley Bedell (D-IA) from 1979-1985. Galvin has a B.A. from the School of Public and International Affairs at George Washington University and a Master’s Degree from the School of Business at Georgetown University in Washington. D.C. Tim and his wife, Karen, have a daughter, Foley, and a son, Conor.
